Rainy Season Road Safety Awareness Activity 2026

Rainy Season Road Safety Awareness Activity 2026

Introduction

Rainy weather brings additional challenges for road users, including slippery roads, reduced visibility, waterlogging and hidden potholes. To promote safer travel during the monsoon, UYIR organised a Rainy Season Road Safety Awareness Activity on 30 October 2026 in Coimbatore.

The campaign brought together 305 student volunteers from 8 educational institutions, who sensitised commuters and road users at three major traffic junctions. The initiative focused on encouraging responsible driving, safe riding practices and greater awareness of monsoon-related road risks.
