Diwali is a time for celebration, but road safety remains everyone’s responsibility. As part of its festive-season road safety initiatives, UYIR organised the Diwali Traffic Regulation Campaign 2026 in Coimbatore to promote responsible driving, improve public awareness and support smoother traffic flow during the festive period.

Building a Culture of Responsible Road Use

Festive periods often bring increased shopping activity, pedestrian movement and traffic congestion. Responsible driving, patience, awareness of traffic regulations and consideration for other road users are essential to maintaining safer roads.

Through this campaign, UYIR sought to encourage the public to make safer travel choices and recognise that road safety depends on the collective responsibility of motorists, pedestrians, institutions and the wider community.

Student participation also provides an opportunity to carry road safety messages beyond campaign locations and into educational institutions, families and local communities.

A Safer Diwali Starts on Our Roads

UYIR’s Diwali Traffic Regulation Campaign reflects its continued commitment to promoting road safety through awareness, education and community participation. By bringing together educational institutions and volunteers, the initiative encourages responsible behaviour and supports efforts to make Coimbatore’s roads safer during the festive season.

Let this Diwali be a celebration of happiness, responsibility and care for every life. Follow traffic rules, drive patiently, respect pedestrians and help ensure that every journey ends safely.
