Mega Road Safety Campaign – Helmet & Seat Belt Awareness

On 9 September 2026, UYIR, in collaboration with Coimbatore City Police and Honda, conducted a Mega Road Safety Campaign on Helmet & Seat Belt Awareness across four locations in Coimbatore. The campaign focused on encouraging motorists and passengers to adopt essential safety practices, particularly wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers and using seat belts while travelling in cars. UYIR Club volunteers engaged directly with road users and counselled them on responsible road behaviour, the importance of following traffic rules, and the role that simple safety measures can play in protecting lives.

Campaign Impact

155 road users were counselled by 55 UYIR Club volunteers across four campaign locations.

The participation of students from four colleges helped extend the Road Safety message beyond educational institutions and directly into the community.
