The UYIR Club Mentors’ Meeting was held on 13 October 2026, from 4:00 PM onwards, at Children’s Traffic Park, Coimbatore. The meeting served as an important platform for discussion, coordination and knowledge-sharing, reinforcing the role of mentors in guiding students and supporting the effective implementation of road safety programmes. Through the UYIR Club initiative, educational institutions play a significant role in nurturing responsible road users and encouraging students to become active participants in building safer communities.

Chief Guest

UYIR was honoured by the presence of Tr. A. Sitrarasu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Planning Cell, Coimbatore City, as the Chief Guest. His presence underscored the importance of collaboration between traffic police authorities, educational institutions, mentors and community organisations in strengthening road safety education and promoting responsible road behaviour. Such partnerships play a vital role in building awareness, encouraging compliance with traffic rules and advancing collective efforts towards safer roads and communities.

Guidance and Support from UYIR’s Leadership

The meeting benefited from the valuable guidance and support of Mr. D. Balasundaram, Managing Director, Powerlink Systems Pvt. Ltd., Treasurer / Trustee, UYIR, and Capt. Satish R, Head – Administration, LMW Limited, Mentor, Educational Vertical, UYIR. Their involvement reflects the importance of leadership, mentorship and institutional support in strengthening UYIR’s educational initiatives. By bringing together professional experience and a shared commitment to road safety, such guidance supports the development of meaningful programmes that encourage student participation and responsible citizenship.

Strengthening UYIR Clubs Through Mentorship

UYIR Clubs serve as platforms for introducing road safety awareness into educational environments and encouraging students to become advocates for safer roads. Mentors play an important role in guiding these clubs, supporting their activities and helping students understand how road safety principles can be practised in everyday life. The UYIR Club Mentors’ Meeting focused on discussing upcoming initiatives and strengthening the role of mentors in supporting road safety education across institutions. These discussions contribute to the broader objective of building active, informed and responsible student communities.

Through continued engagement with mentors and educational institutions, UYIR aims to encourage students to understand traffic regulations, identify unsafe road practices and share safety messages with their peers, families and communities. This approach helps make road safety education an ongoing learning process rather than a one-time awareness activity.

Building a Collaborative Road Safety Movement

Road safety requires collective action from individuals, educational institutions, government authorities, industry leaders and community organisations. Platforms such as the UYIR Club Mentors’ Meeting help strengthen these connections and encourage coordinated efforts towards safer mobility. By supporting mentors and strengthening UYIR Clubs, the organisation continues to work towards a future where students are equipped with the awareness and responsibility needed to make safer choices on the road. The initiative also reinforces the importance of collaboration in reducing preventable road accidents and protecting lives.

UYIR extends its heartfelt gratitude to our Chief Guest, Tr. A. Sitrarasu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Planning Cell, Coimbatore City, for his esteemed presence and support. We also express our sincere appreciation to Mr. D. Balasundaram, Managing Director, Powerlink Systems Pvt. Ltd., Treasurer / Trustee, UYIR, and Capt. Satish R, Head – Administration, LMW Limited, Mentor, Educational Vertical, UYIR, for their valuable guidance, encouragement and continued commitment to strengthening road safety education.
