UYIR was launched and inaugurated by the Hon. Chief Minister Shri. E. K. Palaniswamy and the State Minister Shri. S. P. Velumani on 27th Oct ‘18 at CODISSIA. Members of the all Vertical and Schools, Colleges and most of the Corporates, Trade Associations have participated in the mega event.
MOUs were exchanged with concerned Departments in front of the CM and the Public on Road Safety.
This event was the milestone for UYIR and which has made easy to reach the message the public.
UYIR organised online drawing competition for school children. The target group for this contest is KG to Grade 8. The theme for the contest is "Role of the student in road safety". 212 student's from 34 schools participated in this contest. Total prize money for the event is 27 thousand. School Principals, Kutty Cops Co-coordinators, Cognizant Volunteers and parents extended wonderful support for this event.
Road Safety Awareness program was conducted for the employees of the Adwaith Group of Industries .Around 200 employees have attended this program .
The special awareness program was organised for the drivers and conductors of Tamilnadu State Transport Corporation , Coimbatore division on 28.02.2020.More than 200 employees along with General Managers ( Operation and Maintenance) have attended in this program .TNSTC extends his willingness to spread this awareness program to other division also.

Uyir, in association with the Department of Visual Communication of Rathinam College of Arts and Science organized ' Uyir Short Flim Contest '. 124 short films received for this contest from the participants across india.The jury reviewed entries to come out with two winners each in three categories - 30 seconds, one minute and three minutes.
Dr.S.Rajasekaran,managing trustee of Uyir, said the short film contest was held to bring public involvement in road safety awareness, which was needed to turn Coimbatore roads safe to ride on.
Hell-mate by Jomon C.J. and Ner Kodu by Rajhu R. won the first and second prizes in the 30-second category. While Uyir Kaappan by M. Periyasamy won first prize and Thaduppan by Udhayakumar received the second prize in the one-minute category, Kayalvizhi by Gowtham Selvaraj and Vahzhipokan by S. Pratheeksha bagged the first and second prizes in the three-minute category.
Actor Mr. Sivakumar and Coimbatore District Collector Mr.K.Rajamani distributed prizes worth ₹ 1 Lakh to the winners in the presence of Dr.Rajasekaran, Mr.Madan A. Senthil, chairman of Rathinam Group, Ms.Swathy Rohit, Chief Operating Officer of SNR Sons Charitable Trust and Uyir trustees Mr.Vijay Mohan of Pricol Ltd and Mr.K.Ramasamy of Roots Industries.
Uyir has driven up forwarded to it’s vision of Zero Accident city .Uyir organised the great event to release the handbook on Road Safety to the Coimbatore based industrial employees on 20th December’2019(Friday) at Auditorium, Ganga Hospital.
Mr. K.Jagatheesan, Senior Additional Director of Industrial Safety and Health released the first copy of the handbook in the program.
Nearly 400 people from the HRD departments of various important industries participated. Members from CII, CODISSIA, Indian Chamber of Commerce, SIMA, SIEMA and SISPA also participated in this event. Dr.S.Rajasekaran welcomed and Mr K Ramasamy and Mr Vijay Mohan participated in the meeting and delivered special addresses.
The school level drwaing and slogan writing competitions were held for students of 40 schools in Coimbatore who are part of the 'Kutty Cops' from November 12th to 21st 2019.Around 800 drawing and posters carrying slogans on road safety were displayed at the auditorium which were selected from a school-level competition held recently.
The competitions were held for two categories, classes III to V and classes VI to VIII, with Coimbatore and road safety as the theme.Five best posters and drawings from each category found entry to the exhibition, adding to a total of around 800 selected works.More than 1200 parents and family members came to witness the creative works of students.

Dr.Claud Martin from switzerland, Dr.Rajashekar along with Dr.SathiyaNarayanan, HeadMaster and Secretary of Mani higher secondary school and members from Rotary East distributed the Helmets followed by a road safety awareness Rally by students.

Mega launch of Road Safety Awareness Campaign by the ‘UYIR CLUBS’ of the colleges of Coimbatore on Monday, 30th September 2019. 750+ students from 16 Colleges of Coimbatore City participated in a road safety awareness campaign at 20 important signals of Coimbatore city. Signals in Avinashi Road, Mettupalaym Road, Trichy Road, Palakkad Road, Pollachi Road, Sathy road covered as part of this mega launch.
